My birthday or "If you are Chinese all you are allowed to drink is an apple juice!!!"

Those that dont know it was my birthday on 18th, so if you didnt congratulate me- dont worry i already deleted you from my facebook friend's list!! Just kidding:)Anyways, i decided why not and share my birthday experience here in China. May be you might take a laugh at it.My company was very excited about my birthday, because everyone wanted to have a dinner together, drink and just have fun. It sounded like a perfect plan to me, since these people are the ones I spend most of my time and each one of them was amazing to me for the past 3 months. My boss prepared a bottle of red Johnnie Walker and a list of groceries for a delicious hot pot dinner. My thought was that a bottle of Johnnie Walker for 10 people won't be enough and may be we'll have to buy something else, but how wrong i was.7 pm We are sitting at the table, preparing the hot pot. Hot pot is something traditional for China especially when winter comes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_pot)7:30 pm The bottle is open. The toasts are said, the drink is consumed with Cola, one after another, after another....8:30 pm Every Chinese at the table is drunk. It looked as if a movie that was missing couple of stills...me and the other intern- Lily from Colombia, couldn't believe our eyes. All we could say at the moment was "OMFG... they are FUCKING drunk...Fuckin drunk"The bottle wasn't empty yet, but somehow every Chinese at the table was drunk. But not drunk and FUN, it was the crazy screaming, falling down drunk. I was tipsy, ready to hit a dance floor, any dance floor even an imaginary one.So there i was at 8:30 pm, after one hour and a half of a dinner, in a dilemma what to do next: go home or continue the party without my workmates. My only solution was take the subway to Guangzhou and hope that some of my acquaintances is going out.By 10:30, together with Lily, we were in Guangzhou in the taxi going to one of it's considered best clubs "Baby Face" ( dont mention it -the name sucks:).And let me tell you what happens in a club in China, when a blonde foreign girl has at her disposal the phrase "It's my bday today": free drinks:) from Chinese, African, European, Middle East, Russian, etc.Another thing that happens is that the Chinese try to copy your moves- i had fun with that for the majority of the night:)All in all my night ended at 6 am when i hit the couch of one of my friends in Guangzhou. Was i drunk?!! Hell yeah, but at least it took me more than one hour and a half!!!Morala zilei: Cînd beți cu chineji- turnați-le suc!PS: Happy New Year to all of you!!! La mulți ani! Vă doresc împlinirea tuturor dorințelor în anul care vine și atingerea tuturor obiectivelor setate....
